What’s up man?! You were on my mind this morning, just had to come over here and say hello! Sounds like this will be a cool review series. I have not yet read any EU comics, still working through the novels.

The hand to hand combat is ridiculous obviously the Jedi are no stranger to hand to hand fighting but it no point of it being drawn out long when the Jedi lady could end the fight quickly with a single swing of her lightsaber to cut off the assassin hand. Also I hate the writing of this show to make it the Jedi as the bad guys while trying to make the Sith “Misunderstood” grey morality bull crap. Look the Jedi were flaw no doubt about it they made mistakes but they shouldn’t be condemned for that they kept the peace over a thousand of years worst this show do is trying to justify evil.

Heard good things about the show. Listening to this now. 7 out of 10 is solid. You're right in the matter that people want things to be graded much higher, even if 7 is a pretty solid mark. Some games are a 6 or 7, and we remember them fondly. Sometimes the grade reflects more the quality of polish and the whole package rather than the best moments or something unique to it. About Lucy, the girl, I get it. I interpret her character as being tough on keeping that idealistic view on life. There are some type of people that bear that flag even when the wind would blow it away (if my metaphor works here), and she can be one of those, though as she is young, change is expected. Can grow a bit jaded or adapts to be more pragmatic, while retaining that optimistic, goody two shoes attitude. Mind you, I didn't watch the show, I'm going off your review. I remember one article in which the director for the show, who played a lot of Fallout 3, said it was a fool's errand to try and please fans of the game. I agreed with that, thinking along the lines of "do your own thing and do it well". Because if I wanted to experience something the games offered, I would play the games, and having a show or movie adaptation of a franschize always begs the question of "Alright, what is the thing about and how we can adapt it on the big screen?" I don't envy people who are given such tasks, and I'm glad when they strike with something new. Bonus points if the execution is well done. I agree Lucy should change and grow but that doesn't mean she should stop being nice, friendly and all around good person mostly because the three main characters are supposed to represent the different routes you can go on the karma system and most people don't make a good karma character then switch in the middle of a playthrough. A important component I think should be included in the series is that it's harder in some ways to be a good person in the wasteland but there are tradeoffs like better networking and trust building also living with your own consciousness.

Interesting premises fall when the execution isn't on the right level. I feel ya there. I haven't done much with Star Wars, be it books or shows (I don't watch TV at all, and I don't have Netflix). Just been playing Battlefront 2, because it was on sale and I enjoyed it. What SW made interesting was different types of games, and media, be it serious or more comedic, with various level of originality that felt authentic. You had RTSs, Shooters, Lightsaber fighting games, racers, and it wasn't all just one or two companies. Kept it fresh, you know? As for the shows and movies taking in people that worked on media that has nothing much to do with sci-fi, yeah, would be better if they told them what was expected or took someone else. An idea, even if you or I heard it before, can be fun if the makers put effort in it to tell you something new, fun or interesting, and expecting that from a big corporation that has, let's say focus on profit, isn't going to deliver that most of the time. A shame, because I think mostly any idea is worth exploring. We just need to cook with it more, is all

I feel you. After season 3 of The Mandalorian I checked out of live action Star Wars. Which feels so sad to say, as I had been obsessed since I was 7. Season 3 of Bad Batch has been the best season of the show so far though. The last 2 episodes are the first time SW had made me feel anything emotionally in a fat minute

I don't know how anyone would think the trailer was boring ... 🤔 Y'all are trippin. Letting your justifiable concern about the creator bias your perception of what's been shown so far. I'm worried it's not gonna be as good as it's potential, but the trailer did nothing to convince me I'm right to worry. Hell, Ive always been convinced that Yoda's reaction to KiAdi Mundi's statement that the "sith have been extinct..." was suspect and Windu too seems like he is in on a secret the top members of the council have been trying to keep quiet. Then at the end Yoda shows they at least had rumors of how the Sith have been existing in the shadows under the Rule of Two. I'll hold my judgment for when the series drops.

Honestly, the Acolyte could be good because it seems to originate from a writer's moment of inspiration (as all movies/shows used to!) instead of just being ordered by execs to fill a schedule or check a box. That said, I'm already out of Star Wars 😆

Ms Marvel pleasantly surprised me. The show has some genuine flaws in pacing and I wish they kept her stretchy powers from the comics, but there isn't a funnier gag than the Haram Halal hats anywhere on TV. This show is underappreciated. It has style and comedic chops and real dramatic weight, but I wish there were more scenes of Kamala doing superhero stuff. It gets so invested in its story about Djinn that it doesn't make enough time for Kamala to do more saving kids from falling off buildings kinda stuff, and that's more of what I wanted.

I didn't mind them doing the meditation scene since the jedi are about that BUT what really ticked me about the trailer is I hear them trying to make the SITH "misunderstood" thing. The whole jedi are bad concept is getting old to me. Getting tired of that. But I agree, this girl is RED FLAG CITY how she comes out of nowhere making this project really fishy.

Ah, my childhood… I used to play Star Wars Battlefront 2 on the PS2 more than the first. Now I'm playing it again on the PS5 with Battlefront Classic Collection.

If you thought the first Jurassic World film was bad, I cannot imagine how your reaction would've been like if you had watched the Sequels..... You made a wise of walking away after the first film. The Jurassic World and Star Wars Sequels films have so much in common in fact, it's insane.

I really don't get it. Nothing of Herbert's work remains in this vapid, barely-literate, 3-hour-long, "Dune" themed music video... which also effaces every interesting idea and character from Herbert's universe, inserting modern societal neuroses (men vs. women, deists vs. secularists) in place of deep, philosophical explorations. The success of these movies lets us know that "The Feelies" -- right out of Huxley's "Brave New World" -- have supplanted cinema (and made the novel obsolete). But for me, there's just not enough soma in the world to make this picayune dreck enjoyable.

I highly recommend the 2000 Dune mini series and the follow up The Children of Dune. The former is Very faithful to the book. John Harrison who wrote and directed the first and wrote and produced the latter is listed as an executive producer for the Denis Villeneuve films. You can watch them both for free on RUclips now. They are beautifully shot but very much early 2000s tv movie vibes and cgi. If you can get over that you are golden. Children of Dune's CGI is bad (sooo bad) and many secondary characters are recast. Not a bad thing but jarring continuity wise.

Decided to play the game from the start, came across a holo recording at Peragus, a recording that wasn’t in either the remaster for the Switch initially or the original PC version. Then I remembered that Switch remaster of KOTOR II got an update a few weeks ago. I wonder *if* the recording is part of the restored content.

As for me, I do wanna buy this collection, but on the Xbox Series X cause that is where I will better be able to play these games online with my friends, although I actually would prefer to have this with 4 player Splitscreen rather than 2 player Splitscreen cause that's how me and my friends will wanna relive this amazingness of a game (in fact we are gonna do this with the og Xbox version this upcoming Saturday). At least the Next Gen versions of this collection should have 4 player Splitscreen. I STRONGLY think Aspyr should just enable Cross Platform Play across all versions of this collection, it is MEGA required to ensure this collection has a much higher lifespan; in fact if they did this, it would be the main reason to get this collection on Steam over the classic version (even over the mods); without crossplay, the PC version of the collection is indeed not worth it over the original PC version which costs less. Also this Battlefront collection is more of just an HD port of the original games using high res textures, models and such, so they ain't really doing much to update or improve these over the originals, in fact this collection seems to be the PC version at high settings spread across all platforms; this ain't akin to what NightDive Studios is doing with the Dark Forces remaster where they actually had to redo and remake textures, models and such to get it to be as great looking as it is currently (plus that remaster includes bonus content never before released, making its purchase value that much sweeter).

Seven Samurai is better. Yojimbō & Sanjurō is my favorite due to the character Sanjurō Kuwabatake/Tsubuki and Toshirō Mifune's performance. Toshirō Mifune is the best actor. Check out the Samurai Trilogy where he played Miyamotō Musashi, Japan's most legendary Rōnin.

You should try having Starkiller hold the lightsaber in his Shien reverse grip like he does in the game, you can actually do that with this figure. 10:41 Oh the Deluxe edition of the Starkiller Black Series figure with the extra accesories and two Stormtroopers. Yeah, I got that one myself and I love it, managed to do many different poses and stances with it.

Very solid list of 2023 games, although I do gotta mention some things about the games listed or mentioned in here. Starfield, I myself could not finish it, I quit the game after 23 hours of playtime, it was boring to me cause of how bland and empty the exploration of worlds is, and the extreme lack of proper space travel akin to Starlink: Battle for Atlas or No Man's Sky was definitely very disappointing. The game concept was too ambitious, but Bethesda preferred to stick to doing the game in their "Bethesda style" of game design, which led to the game not only using a dated Game Engine, but also the game feeling like it's a PS4/Xbox One game rather than a true Next Gen Space Simulator RPG. Resident Evil 4 Remake have not played it yet, I will play it one day, don't know when. But even if I do play it, the original RE4 is still going to be king for me. Jedi Survivor is unfortunately not gonna get patched on PC, they cut off any support for the PC version while the Next Gen console versions are getting support, in fact a few months ago it had a patch that fixed the 60fps Performance mode and now it plays and runs A LOT better in there compared to its launch state. So to replay the game without any major performance issues, unfortunately Next Gen consoles is the only way to go, PC got left in the dust by EA. Yeah, Sega is who owns the Jet Set Radio IP. I have not playeed any Jet Set Radio game at all, and I do wanna play them, especially that og Xbox game Jet Set Radio Future. Dead Space remake is very good, so good that it is indeed better than the original game (especially with replacing the annoying space turrets part with something much better). I started playing it on October, but couldn't finish it cause the horror aspect did end up giving me a headache, so I had to quit the game for awhile, but I do wanna eventually finish it when I can, just cause I did leave it in the middle. I have The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in physical form, and have not played it yet, lol. The Ubisoft open world game you mentioned... was it Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora the game you said you maybe would have put in here had it not been a typical Ubisoft Open World affair? Baldur's Gate 3 I have not yet played it at all, I haven't even played the two previous Baldur's Gate games, one day I'll play them all.

Great list. BG3 is probably the best AAA CRPG since DA Origins. It makes BioWare look shameful, which is ironic. I'm glad you included Phantom Liberty on the list. The DLC was too good for its own right.

Out of all these movies, I've only seen Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1, great movie; everything else I have not seen in theaters or in streaming. I have seen the first John Wick movie, but have not seen the others yet.
